Retainers are especially designed discreet transparent pieces used to prevent your piercing from closing. It is especially important to use those in case you had your piercing for a short period of time – as in that case it is more likely to close when given a chance. However, even if you had piercing for several months and want to go for a holiday, it’s recommended to use retainers too, as later it will be easier and less painful for you to adjust to your usual jewelry size. |
